Two Men Killed in Tragic Accident in Davao City
A truck driver and his helper lost their lives after being crushed by steel sheets they were transporting in Davao City on June 25. The victims were identified as 56-year-old Nestor Doronio and his 24-year-old helper KR Rasonable.
According to the Davao police report, the tragic incident occurred on C.P. Garcia Highway in Barangay Bunawan. Doronio attempted to avoid hitting a pedestrian by abruptly stopping the truck. However, this sudden brake application caused the steel sheets to move forward, impaling both men.
The truck was carrying 50 pieces of 12-millimeter steel sheets, which slipped about three meters towards the cab of the trailer truck. Both Doronio and Rasonable sustained fatal injuries that resulted in their deaths. The 32-year-old pedestrian involved in the accident is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
