Netflix’s new series “Gyeongseong Creature” combines historical drama and creature thriller genres. The series follows Park Seo-jun’s character Jang Tae-sang, the richest man in Gyeongseong and master of the House of Golden Treasure. Han So-hee plays Yoon Chae-ik, a sleuth searching for her mother who partners with Tae-sang to infiltrate an unusual hospital, where the two discover a monster resulting from human greed. These elements make for an intriguing and unique show combining historical and supernatural genres.

At a recent press conference in Seoul, the cast and director discussed the making of the show. Park Seo-jun expressed his excitement for the narrative and character, as well as his admiration for writer Kang Eun-kyung and director Jeong Dong-yun. Han So-hee shared her enthusiasm for the setting in the 1940s and the blend of creature and period genres. The talented cast members are all thrilled to be part of the innovative show that promises to deliver something new to the audience.

Part 1 of “Gyeongseong Creature” is set to premiere on Netflix on Dec. 22, with part 2 to be released on Jan. 5. Viewers can look forward to a captivating and suspenseful series that offers a fresh take on historical drama and creature thriller genres.
