Philippine Experience Program launched by DOT in Northern Mindanao

BUKIDNON, Philippines — The Department of Tourism (DOT) in Northern Mindanao has officially launched the Philippine Experience Program (PEP): Culture, Heritage, and Arts Caravans.

Following its initial launch in the Davao Region last year, the program is now conducting a three-day tour in Cagayan de Oro City and the province of Bukidnon from May 23 to May 25.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, along with other DOT officials, led the launch, expressing the importance of opening up Mindanao for tourism.

“There are many emerging destinations in Northern Mindanao that we believe have massive potential to offer immersive, purposeful, and experiential travel,” she stated.

This marks the eighth leg of the PEP after its recent event in Palawan in April. The program has expanded to various regions, including Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Zamboanga, Ilocos, and now parts of Northern Mindanao.

PEP aims to showcase the Filipino “brand and identity” in all aspects of the travel and tourism experience. It will focus on cultural tourism circuit development, highlighting heritage, culture, and the arts.

The program will offer themed experiences on food and gastronomy, pilgrimage and wellness, festivals, living cultures, heritage, and the arts, enhancing the overall travel experience.
