Lea Salonga, Broadway star, to be immortalized with wax figure at Madame Tussauds Singapore

Manila, Philippines — The Philippines’ pride, Broadway icon Lea Salonga, is set to have her own wax figure at Madame Tussauds Singapore. The Grammy-, Olivier- and Tony-awardee will join the ranks of other Filipino legends with this latest honor.

Filipinos, who often visit the bustling city-state, can expect to see Lea’s wax figure by the third quarter of this year. The figure will capture Lea’s essence in a powerful and iconic pose, as described by Madame Tussauds Singapore.

During a sitting session with the Madame Tussauds Singapore team, Lea expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. She mentioned that having a wax figure made in her likeness is a “fantastic” experience.

The announcement of Lea’s wax figure comes in conjunction with her upcoming show, “Stage, Screen, and Everything in Between,” where she will perform iconic roles from “Miss Saigon,” “Les Misérables,” “Aladdin,” and “Mulan.” The show will also include “Miss Saigon” performances in Singapore.

In addition to Lea, Madame Tussauds has also created wax figures of other Filipino icons such as boxing champion Manny Pacquio, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. Pia’s wax figure, wearing her iconic blue Michael Cinco gown from her coronation, is currently on display at Madame Tussauds Singapore until September 1.

Madame Tussauds Singapore is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with various launches, activities, and promotions. Stay tuned for more updates on when Lea Salonga’s wax figure will be unveiled to the public.
