The hearing focused on discrepancies in Guo’s birth records and her alleged involvement in Philippine offshore gaming operators. Hontiveros presented conflicting details in Guo’s birth certificate compared to those of her siblings, highlighting issues with her parents’ marriage records.
Guo struggled to address the inconsistencies, claiming she did not handle the birth certificates and revealing complex family dynamics. Senators raised doubts about the existence of Guo’s mother and questioned her Filipino citizenship documentation. Despite Guo’s assertions of a challenging upbringing on a farm, senators pressed her for more details, prompting emotional responses from the mayor.
