Filipinos Prefer Cash Over Fancy Dinners for Valentine’s Day

A recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations revealed that Filipinos have practical and romantic preferences when it comes to Valentine’s Day gifts. The survey, which was carried out in December 2023, found that money was the most desired gift by 16% of respondents, followed by love and companionship at 11%, and flowers at 10%.

Other popular Valentine’s Day gifts included apparel, “any gift from the heart,” and mobile phones. On the other hand, some of the less popular choices were written or in-person greetings, kisses, and alcoholic drinks.

The survey also discovered that 58% of Filipinos reported being very happy with their love life, with a majority of married couples expressing satisfaction with their relationship. However, the number of Filipinos without a love life is gradually increasing.

The poll, which involved face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults, had a margin of error of ±2.8% for national percentages and ±5.7% for regional breakdowns.
