FDCP Recognizes Individuals for Their Commitment to Tradition and Arts Scholarship



Lifetime Achievement awards were bestowed upon several distinguished individuals by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) at the Parangal ng Sining event. This served as a tribute to the honorees’ extensive contributions to the film industry. Boots Anson-Rodrigo, a veteran actress and board member of the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), expressed gratitude for the recognition which emphasized not only her body of work but also her long-standing service to Mowelfund.

Accolades were also presented to Gloria Romero, Nicanor Tiongson, Clodualdo “Doy” del Mundo Jr., and Armando “Bing” Lao for their exceptional work in the field of film. Posthumous recognition was given to film archivist-curator Teddy Co and Cannes best actress Jaclyn Jose. Jaclyn’s daughter, Andi Eigenmann, accepted the award on her mother’s behalf and highlighted the immense dedication Jose had for her craft.

The event, hosted by Alden Richards, was graced by esteemed personalities such as Leo Katigbak of Sagip Pelikula and Rose Roque of the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film (Sofia). FDCP chair Jose Javier Reyes emphasized the importance of honoring those who have played a significant role in preserving the cinematic heritage of the Philippines.

The ceremony was a celebration of the past and future of Philippine cinema, paying tribute to the trailblazers and innovators who have shaped the industry. It underscored the invaluable contributions of individuals and organizations dedicated to the preservation and advancement of Filipino film culture.
