Actor Dominic Roque files cyber libel case against showbiz columnist and host

Actor Dominic Roque has filed a cyber libel case against showbiz columnist and host Cristy Fermin for the “malicious statements and innuendos” she made on her online show. GMA News reporter Nelson Canlas shared photos of Roque filing the case against Fermin on Instagram.

According to Canlas, Roque filed the cyber libel case at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Pasig City, citing the malicious statements and innuendos made by Fermin on her YouTube channel ‘Showbiz Now Na’ as the basis for the legal action.

This comes after Roque’s ex-fiancee, actress Bea Alonzo, also filed cyber libel cases against Fermin and another showbiz columnist and host, Ogie Diaz, earlier this month. Celebrity couple Sharon Cuneta and former Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan also filed a cyber libel case against Fermin on May 10.

The legal action against Fermin is part of a growing trend of celebrities taking a stand against cyber libel and online harassment in the entertainment industry.
