In the latest development for the Gilas Pilipinas program, Coach Tim Cone has chosen veteran player Japeth Aguilar and young talent Mason Amos as alternates. These players will practice and travel with the original 12 members of the team, ready to step in if needed.
Coach Cone’s decision aims to prevent a manpower shortage like the one experienced in the previous window, where the Nationals played with only 10 men due to injuries. “If we lose one of our bigs, Japeth will step in. If any of the others, Mason will fill the hole,” stated Cone regarding the roles of Aguilar and Amos.
