BSP Identifies Partner Institutions in Mindanao for Collaboration



The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) Mindanao Regional Office (MRO) held its 2023 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC) last December 5, 2023, in Cagayan de Oro City. During the ceremony, seven outstanding partner institutions were recognized for their contributions to the BSP’s efforts in supporting the economy and improving the lives of the Filipino people.

The BSP commended the following stakeholders in Mindanao: Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region XIII; Philippine Science High School, Zamboanga Peninsula; Department of Education – Misamis Oriental Division; National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office XIII; Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism – Maguindanao Provincial Office; City Government of Davao; and Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Monetary Board Member Rosalia V. De Leon, formerly the national treasurer, expressed gratitude to the BSP partners in Mindanao for their support in fulfilling the central bank’s mandates to support the economy and improve the lives of the people. BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat also acknowledged the contributions of these stakeholders in shaping policies that stabilize and stimulate the economy.

The BSP has been recognizing its partner institutions since 2004. These institutions participate in BSP surveys and other projects that support the central bank’s pursuit of price stability, financial stability, and a safe and efficient payments and settlements system. Additionally, partner institutions have been recognized for their support of the BSP’s advocacies on financial inclusion, financial education, sustainable finance, and proper handling of banknotes and coins, as stated by the BSP.
