Teenager from La Salle School showcases remarkable progress, securing championship and MVP accolades

La Salle University recently celebrated its second championship title of the year, with Shevana Laput emerging as a key player for the team. Laput, a standout opposite hitter, will now face increased defensive attention from opponents in the upcoming UAAP season. However, Laput remains unfazed and is determined to continue improving her skills.

Despite playing without star Angel Canino and libero Justine Jazareno, La Salle showed dominance in their victory over Adamson in the Shakey’s Super League National Invitationals. This latest championship win adds to the university’s second crown in 2023, following the departure of key players Mars Alba, Jolina Dela Cruz, and Fifi Sharma.

Laput played a crucial role in the tournament, consistently scoring points for the Lady Spikers. While she was named the Most Valuable Player, Laput believes that there is still room for improvement and is determined to become the best version of herself.

With their victory in the Shakey’s tournament, La Salle can now shift their focus to defending their UAAP crown. Laput’s emergence as a key player will help fill the void left by the departures from last season’s championship team. The university’s coaching staff sees the victory as an opportunity to assess the team’s strengths and weaknesses as they prepare for the UAAP.

La Salle is determined to retain their title and will work harder and smarter in the upcoming season. Laput’s impressive performance and her teammates’ support give her confidence as she aims to contribute to another successful season for the Lady Spikers.
