Sunday will see rainy weather persist in the extreme northern provinces of Luzon



Overcast skies and rainy weather are expected in extreme northern parts of Luzon, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Sunday evening, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In an afternoon forecast, Pagasa stated that easterlies will affect the eastern part of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while the frontal system will prevail over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

According to weather specialist Veronica Torres, Batanes and Babuyan Islands can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the frontal system. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms and hot and humid weather.

There is no gale warning raised on the country’s seaboards at the moment.
