Manila, Philippines — San Miguel Beer continues to assert its dominance over Rain or Shine as they secure a 2-0 lead in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series. The Beermen secured a 101-98 victory in the first game, followed by a dominant 106-89 rout in the second game.

Meanwhile, Meralco and Ginebra are locked in a 1-1 standoff in their own semifinal series. Despite Ginebra taking the first game with a score of 92-88, Meralco quickly responded with a 103-91 win in the second game.

Both teams are gearing up for a tough battle, with Meralco coach Luigi Trillo emphasizing the respect they have for each other. The series is expected to be a hard-fought battle between these old playoff rivals.

Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger’s impressive 41-point performance in Game 2 was not enough to secure a victory, as Meralco’s defensive efforts stood strong. Ginebra coach Tim Cone acknowledges the need for contributions from the entire team to bounce back in the series.

As the games intensify, basketball fans can expect more thrilling matchups and fierce competition in the upcoming games.
