Pru Life UK Appoints Sanjay Chakrabarty as New CEO
Pru Life UK has officially announced the appointment of Sanjay Chakrabarty as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective as of February 1, 2024 pending regulatory approval. This news comes as the firm’s current CEO, Eng Teng Wong, prepares to leave his position and return to Malaysia to spend more time with his family.
In a statement, Prudential Strategic Business Group Managing Director Solmaz Altin expressed excitement about Chakrabarty’s upcoming leadership role, saying, “I’m delighted that we have strong talent across the Prudential Group to support our ambitious growth plans, and Sanjay will bring a wealth of industry experience to Pru Life UK.”
Chakrabarty, who has been with Prudential since 2014, is currently the CEO of Prudential Cambodia as well as Prudential’s Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar Hub. He has accumulated deep knowledge of the banking and insurance sectors throughout his 26-year career, having worked in multiple Asian markets.
Under Chakrabarty’s leadership, Prudential’s Cambodia business was successfully reinstated to the top position in the market, and he has demonstrated a commitment to implementing strategic initiatives with a material impact in all three markets. Moreover, he is dedicated to driving a customer-centric approach and creating a culture of excellence to attract and retain top talent.
