My dream is to see them as friends rather than enemies.

KC Concepcion Excited and Overwhelmed as Parents Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion Team Up for Concert

In a recent interview with talent manager Ogie Diaz, actress KC Concepcion opened up about her emotions upon learning that her parents, megastar Sharon Cuneta and her biological father Gabby Concepcion, are collaborating for the first time in a concert. KC revealed that she was unable to explain her feelings at first, and even locked herself in her room and avoided contact with others.

“It was the first time. I didn’t know what the feeling was. Would I be excited? Can I cry? It’s a show for others but real life for me. I’m excited, but I’m an only child. I’m the only one who knows what I feel. You won’t understand me because you’re not the child. I’m an only child. The feelings are mixed,” KC shared during the interview.

As the concert, titled “Dear Heart,” approaches in October, KC admitted that she is still unsure about her participation in the event. However, she expressed her desire to see her parents reconcile and showcase a harmonious relationship on stage. KC hopes for a memorable experience that captures their camaraderie.

“My dad’s wife is even more excited. She said, ‘Are you excited?’ I said, ‘Tita, don’t ask me now. I’m not ready yet.’ But I’m ready now. I’ll face it,” KC declared, indicating her readiness to confront her emotions surrounding the concert.

Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion tied the knot in 1994 but eventually separated. Their marriage was annulled in the same year. Sharon is currently married to Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, with whom she has two daughters, Frankie and Miel, as well as an adopted son, Miguel.

On a separate note, KC confirmed that she recently unfollowed her stepfather Kiko Pangilinan and stepsister Frankie on social media. She explained that it was a decision aimed at finding peace of mind and seeking happiness. Despite occasional struggles in expressing her love for her mother, KC emphasized that she still loves Sharon deeply.

“When I see my mom crying, I can’t cry. I need to be the strong one. So I also have a love for my mommy that I don’t always express. We love each other so much. But we also admit that we are alike in so many ways. And just like she said, there are times when we are different. But we are okay. We love each other very much,” KC shared.

KC further highlighted that her bonding moments with her mother primarily revolve around work, where Sharon includes her in concerts, tapings, recordings, and simple activities that exclude others. These seemingly ordinary activities hold great significance for KC, as she considers them special and a source of love and connection with her mother.

“It’s not simple when you’re in the public eye. The bonding between me and my mommy is work. She will take me to her concert. When she’s taping and recording, I’ll go with her. Simple activities that don’t include other people. But when mom does it, wow! A significant event for me. That’s normal for others. For me, what’s typical for other people, that’s special. But nobody’s perfect. I wasn’t born perfect. The important thing is to love each other,” KC expressed.

The forthcoming “Dear Heart” concert promises to be a unique and emotional experience for both Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, as they redefine their relationship on stage. It remains to be seen whether KC Concepcion will join them, but one thing is certain – the concert will be a momentous occasion for this well-known family in the entertainment industry.
