MMDA to ban passage of large vehicles on U-turn from Edsa to Quezon Ave.

Beginning July 22, buses, trucks, and other vehicles with a vertical clearance above 2.5 meters will no longer be allowed to pass the u-turn slot on Edsa Quezon Avenue, as announced by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The closure of the u-turn slot is necessary for the installation of scaffolding under the flyover, limiting vertical clearance to 2.5 meters. This closure will only allow light vehicles to pass through both northbound and southbound directions. Alternative routes have been provided for affected buses and trucks. The retrofitting of the Edsa Q. Ave. flyover is part of the ongoing project by the Department of Public Works and Highways to strengthen permanent bridges and is expected to be completed by August 4.
