Meralco’s Almazan unfazed by another Fajardo scoring spree as long as Bolts secure victory

In a thrilling match-up between the Meralco Bolts and the San Miguel Beermen, the spotlight was on June Mar Fajardo’s impressive performance. The reigning PBA Most Valuable Player showcased his skills by scoring 38 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in Game 5. Despite his outstanding performance, the Bolts managed to secure a 92-88 victory.

Raymond Almazan, who was tasked with defending Fajardo, emphasized that winning is the ultimate goal, even if it means allowing the opposing player to score big. Almazan acknowledged the challenge of containing Fajardo due to his size and strength but remained focused on playing good defense.

With this crucial win, the Meralco Bolts are now just one victory away from securing their first PBA title. They will have an opportunity to clinch the championship on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The team is determined to stay focused and continue working hard towards their goal of becoming champions.
