Friday’s Forecast: Overcast with scattered rain showers

Cloudy Skies and Isolated Rain Showers Expected in the Philippines, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts overcast skies and rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat” in most parts of the country on Friday.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil, satellite images show cloud bands in the western section extending to the central and southern parts of the country.

Villamil mentioned that due to the widespread influence of the habagat, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected.

Areas such as Quezon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao are likely to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and Luzon are expected to have fair weather with possible isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Villamil added that this weather condition may persist until Saturday, with a gradual decrease in continuous rainfall in some areas by Sunday and early next week.

Pagasa did not issue gale warnings for any of the country’s seaboards.
