Fintech introduces Filipinos to innovations in online financing and lending opportunities



A recent online forum organized by the Fintech Philippines Association brought top officials from various industries together to discuss the impact of technology on the finance and lending sector in the Philippines.

Key speakers included Don Matias from Global Dominion Financing Inc. (GDFI), Seve Linis from South Asialink Finance Corporation (SAFC), and Joyce Abegail Villanueva from PLDT Enterprise. They highlighted the importance of digital innovation in driving growth for their companies and the country as a whole.

The Philippines saw a 5.6% growth in its gross domestic product in 2023, with financial and insurance activities growing by 11.8% in the last quarter. This growth was largely driven by the expansion of banking institutions.

Matias shared that GDFI increased its workforce from 719 to 1003 employees in 2023, with a low attrition rate. SAFC focused on digital initiatives to enhance customer service and emphasized the importance of an improved online interface and customer experience. PLDT Enterprise emphasized its commitment to providing solutions that benefit Filipinos and businesses.

The forum highlighted the ongoing importance of technological innovation in their services and its impact on everyday life. Future forums will focus on topics like regulatory compliance.
