DOTr and LRTA Seal Partnership with Sta. Lucia Land

Sta. Lucia Land Signs Agreement with DOTr and LRTA for LRT Line-2 East Extension

Sta. Lucia Land, a publicly listed property developer, has solidified its commitment to improving the local community through a recent Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA). The MOA establishes a partnership between the three stakeholders for the construction and development of certain parts of the LRT Line-2 East Extension.

The signing ceremony took place at the lay-by connecting LRT 2 Marikina-Pasig Station and Building 1 of the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall. Transportation Assistant Secretary for Railways Jorjette Aquino, LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernandez T. Cabrera, LRTA Project Manager Engr. Joseph Dexter Buenconsejo, Sta. Lucia Land (SLI) President Exequiel Robles, SLI Chairman Vicente Santos, and SLI Director Orestes Santos were among the officials present.

Under the MOA, a parcel of land owned by SLI, the publicly listed arm of the Sta. Lucia Group, will be utilized for the lay-by area of the LRT2 East Extension and for temporary and permanent work activities related to the project’s construction. In return, the LRTA, together with the DOTr, constructed an interconnection facility access that links the LRT-2 Marikina-Pasig Station to the office spaces at Sta. Lucia Business Center and the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall.

Sta. Lucia Land sees this partnership as another milestone for the company and a testament to its dedication to improving the lives of homeowners and communities. According to Mr. Robles, the company aims to provide ease of travel, convenient access to public transport, and safety and comfort through the interconnection access facility. The direct link, which opened in April this year, provides access to the LRT-2, covering 13 stations spanning 17 kilometers from Rizal to Manila.

As one of the pioneer players in the Pasig-Cainta area, Sta. Lucia Land has been providing residents in the eastern corridor of the metro with a convenient and safe shopping experience. With the opening of the interconnection facility, mallgoers and commuters will have a safer way to reach their destination. Chairman Vicente Santos emphasized the company’s commitment to creating livable communities and providing modern conveniences to residents and customers.

Sta. Lucia Land has been known for its masterplanned communities and has contributed to the development of subdivisions, lakeside communities, golf courses, country clubs, hotels, resorts, and condominiums. The company remains dedicated to working with the government and other private stakeholders to enhance the lives of Filipinos and build a better future for the country.
