The Philippines Softball Team, Blu Girls, Makes Waves in Canada Cup International Championships

The Philippines Softball Team, also known as the Blu Girls, has embarked on a journey to compete in the Canada Cup International Softball Championships in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The tournament began yesterday and will conclude on Sunday.

Under the mentorship of Ana Santiago, the Blu Girls, supported by Cebuana Lhuillier, are facing off against 12 of the toughest teams in the world. One of their early opponents is the Kiwis, whom they were scheduled to play at press time.

Softball chief Jean Henri Lhuillier expressed his enthusiasm for the tournament, emphasizing the team’s growth and development. “I am incredibly excited to see the girls in action. I’ve watched them grow their skills and talents to the best of their ability, and I have no doubt they will make us proud again,” said Lhuillier.

In the coming days, the Philippines will compete in a double-header against Hong Kong and hosts Canada today, followed by matches against Israel tomorrow and Mexico on Thursday. Other teams participating in the tournament include Colorado, Saskatchewan, Australia, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Chinese Taipei.

The playoff phase is scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday, offering an exciting conclusion to the prestigious championship event.
