Uichico appointed as head coach of NLEX Road Warriors

A seasoned PBA tactician, Jong Uichico, will be taking the reins as the coach of the NLEX Road Warriors. The announcement was made through a Facebook post by the team, confirming Uichico’s new role following their recent exit in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals.

Describing Uichico as a nine-time PBA champion, the team expressed their enthusiasm for the upcoming chapter with him leading the Road Warriors towards their first franchise championship. The 61-year-old coach has previously tasted success with San Miguel, Barangay Ginebra, and TNT, winning multiple championships and earning two PBA Coach of the Year awards.

In a separate development, Frankie Lim stepped down from his position as head coach of the Road Warriors, a role he held since 2022. The team thanked Lim for his hard work, dedication, and positive contributions over the past two years, wishing him the best in his future endeavors.

Uichico had joined NLEX as an assistant coach late last year and took over coaching duties in a game back in March when Lim was sidelined due to a hand injury. The Road Warriors are looking forward to a fresh start under Uichico’s guidance as they aim for success in the upcoming PBA season.
