Police prepare to file charges against followers of Quiboloy

Authorities are considering filing criminal complaints against six followers of fugitive pastor Apollo Quiboloy for attempting to attack police officers serving an arrest warrant for the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC). The suspects wielded bolos when they confronted law enforcement officials at the Glory Mountain in Barangay Tamayong in Davao City on Tuesday. Cases of obstruction of justice are being prepared against the individuals involved.

Davao region police office spokesperson Maj. Catherine dela Rey mentioned that updates on the filing of complaints against the suspects are still pending. Meanwhile, Senator Imee Marcos commented on the situation in Davao City during the search for Quiboloy, describing it as a “war zone.”

Former president Rodrigo Duterte criticized the actions of the police units involved in the operation, calling it an “overkill.” The Department of Justice (DOJ) is urging Quiboloy to surrender and face the charges in court to avoid further conflict. Police raiding teams conducted operations at three of Quiboloy’s properties, and the PNP emphasized that officers exercised restraint and followed standard operating procedures during the raid.
