PAWS seeks assistance for rescued animals from Pampanga Pogo center

PAWS Appeals for Help in Providing Medical Needs of Rescued Animals from Pampanga Pogo Hub
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is seeking assistance in providing the necessary medical attention for rescued cats and dogs from a raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) facility in Porac, Pampanga.

In a Facebook post on Monday, PAWS emphasized that the animals rescued from the Pogo hub are not yet available for adoption until they receive the required medical care.

Furthermore, PAWS stated that it will prioritize individuals with a good track record of adopting local Philippine dogs, known as aspins, once adoption procedures are opened. The organization expressed caution towards those who may be interested in adopting solely based on the breed of the animals.

To prevent potential abuse or exploitation, PAWS plans to spay or neuter the animals after their initial medical treatments.

Donors who wish to contribute to the cause can send their donations through PAWS’ e-wallet and bank accounts.

The rescue of these animals follows a recent raid on the Porac Pogo hub, which revealed links to scams and trafficking activities. A total of 186 animals were rescued during the operation.
