Monday weather forecast: Mostly fair with a possibility of rain

Parts of Eastern Visayas and Southern Mindanao are expected to experience overcast skies and rain showers, while the rest of the country can look forward to generally fair weather on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa stated that two weather systems, the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies, will impact the country. The ITCZ is almost outside the Philippine area of responsibility and will affect parts of Southern Mindanao, bringing cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms to certain areas. On the other hand, the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with showers to Eastern Visayas and an increased chance of thunderstorms in some regions.

Overall, the rest of the country can expect generally fair weather with chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Pagasa also reported that there are no low-pressure areas in or around the PAR and no gale warning is in effect for any of the country’s seaboards.
