Meralco Bolts push for Game 7 against Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings

In a thrilling PBA Philippine Cup showdown on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the Meralco Bolts battled their way to a Game 7 against the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings with a final score of 86-81. Despite Ginebra’s late surge to cut the lead, the Bolts held on for the win.

Bong Quinto and Chris Newsome led the Bolts with 23 and 21 points, respectively, providing a crucial scoring punch. Allein Maliksi’s layup gave Meralco an eight-point advantage, but Ginebra fought back with a free throw and a 3-pointer by Mav Ahanmisi.

However, Newsome’s free throws sealed the victory for the Bolts as Scottie Thompson’s last-second shot fell short. The upcoming Game 7 is set to take place at the FPJ Arena in Batangas on Friday, May 31.
