Despite only 54 cases being deemed questionable, Medialdea, a prominent lawyer, did not explain why only three deaths were prosecuted during Duterte’s presidency. The House committee has been holding hearings to address accountability for the victims of the drug war, with activists questioning why Medialdea finds the situation humorous. If the administration is proud of the number of drug suspects neutralized, they argue, then they should be willing to explain their actions.
