Marcos speaks on Eid’l Adha sacrifice and courage



President Marcos urged Filipinos to demonstrate courage in the face of challenges, emphasizing the importance of sacrifice and steadfast faith. In his message for Eid’l Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice, Marcos highlighted the story of Ibrahim as a source of inspiration for all.

He emphasized the need for Filipinos to nurture their relationships with others and with the Almighty, drawing strength from past experiences to face the future with resilience. Marcos encouraged prayer and dependence on God to overcome trials and achieve true peace.

First Lady Liza Marcos also joined Filipino Muslims in celebrating the holiday, noting the importance of service and sacrifice in strengthening faith and community bonds. Vice President Sara Duterte called on the Muslim community to pray for resilience, peace, and safety in the country.

The solidarity of Filipinos in observing Eid’l Adha reflects a strong national relationship built on respect, acceptance, and love. The holiday, declared a national holiday under Republic Act 9849, commemorates Abraham’s act of sacrifice and underscores mankind’s obedience to God.

Eid’l Adha, a major holiday in the Islamic calendar, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide as a time for prayer and reflection. President Marcos has declared June 17 as a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha, emphasizing the significance of sacrifice, gratitude, and humility in everyday life.
