Officials from the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) are taking the reports of a possible data breach on GCash seriously. Executive director Alexander Ramos recently met with GCash executives to discuss the matter at the National Cybercrime hub in Bonifacio Global City. Ramos expressed the importance of a transparent assessment of the alleged data breach involving GCash.
“We take seriously the alleged data breach and have asked GCash to provide information on the veracity of the contents being published or reported,” Ramos stated. GCash has reassured that they are working diligently to investigate the situation and have committed to allowing a thorough probe into the alleged attack.
