Woman who inspired ‘Baby Reindeer’ seeks $170 million from Netflix

A British woman has filed a lawsuit against Netflix, demanding $170 million in damages, claiming she was the inspiration for the stalker character in the popular series “Baby Reindeer.” Fiona Harvey alleges that the show’s portrayal of her as a delusional and violent woman is false and defamatory. The series, based on Richard Gadd’s one-man play, follows the disturbing ordeal of a man who is harassed by a woman named Martha. The lawsuit accuses Netflix and Gadd of spreading lies for profit and seeks damages for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. Netflix has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
