The death toll in a tragic road accident in Tiaong, Quezon has risen to four, according to police reports on Monday. The latest fatality was identified as Eric Atienza, who passed away while receiving treatment at Quezon Medical Center. The accident occurred when a van driven by Emgee Compuesto attempted to overtake a Mitsubishi Xpander on Maharlika Highway, resulting in a collision with a Manila-bound Bicol Isarog bus. Three van passengers died on the scene, while the driver and seven other passengers were rushed to QMC for treatment. Compuesto is now in police custody and faces criminal charges for the death of four passengers, injuries to six others, and property damage. The victims were on their way to Masbate City for a family event and had rented the van.
