May 18 brings cloudy skies and rain to Batanes and Babuyan Island

Cloudy skies and rain are expected in parts of extreme northern Luzon due to a shear line, while warm and humid weather is predicted for Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Saturday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil stated that the shear line is likely to affect Batanes and Babuyan Island, leading to scattered showers with thunder and lightning in those areas. Meanwhile, easterlies will bring hot and humid weather from morning to noon in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

Localized thunderstorms are forecasted to occur in the afternoon and evening, bringing sudden and short rain showers. Pagasa has not detected any weather disturbance or low-pressure area that could enter or develop within the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days.

Additionally, no gale warning has been issued over any of the country’s seaboards for May 18. This update came as Pagasa shared the weather outlook for the day, emphasizing the impact of different weather systems across various regions in the Philippines.
