Marcos set to allocate P1.4B for rehabilitation of Maharlika Highway



President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has announced a significant allocation of P1.4 billion for the rehabilitation of the Maharlika Highway. During a visit to Calbayog City in Samar, Marcos expressed the need to repair and maintain infrastructure in deteriorating sections of the highway. The project is expected to be completed by March 2025. Additionally, Marcos has promised to widen roads in the province to improve transportation flow. The Department of Public Works and Highways in the region has assured the completion of the Maharlika Highway, which connects Eastern Visayas to the rest of the country, within Marcos’ administration.
