DPWH Opens 6.2-km Bypass Road in Nueva Vizcaya

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finally opened ₱ 470.11-Million Solano-Bayombong Bypass Road in Nueva Vizcaya province.

In his report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel said that the 6.202-kilometer Solano-Bayombong Bypass road has four (4) lanes with a 13.4-meter carriageway width and 300-milimeter thickness concrete. The new alternate highway is now regarded as the longest bypass road in Cagayan Valley Region.

“The opening of this new road ensures the faster delivery of goods to and from Nueva Vizcaya and also help decongest traffic along busy Daang Maharlika,” said Secretary Bonoan.

The bypass road is equipped with traffic signal system, light posts, lay-by areas, sidewalks, bicycle and pedestrian lanes, and is expected to benefit around 10,000 travelers per day.

The new bypass road will bring convenience in transporting agricultural and commercial products to major economic hubs. It will also create opportunities for industrial development that will provide employment and livelihood source for locals.

Funded under the Regular Infrastructure Program and implemented under Multi Year Contracting Authority (MYCA) for FY 2018-2022, the scenic super highway type alternate road will also serve as tourism and recreational area for residents and visitors.
