DMW shuts down travel agency in Malolos for engaging in illegal recruitment

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) shut down a travel agency in the City of Malolos for engaging in illegal recruitment activities. The agency, High Dreamer Travel and Tours, was found to be illegally recruiting workers abroad in exchange for placement fees of P50,000. The DMW padlocked the office of the agency in Barangay Catmon after receiving complaints from 13 individuals who were promised jobs abroad but faced delays in document processing. The agency was found to be operating without the necessary permits from the DMW and was deceiving applicants about the nature of the jobs they were being recruited for. This is the 10th illegal recruitment agency closed down by the DMW, and the first one in Bulacan. The owner of the agency will face charges for violating the Migrant Workers Act of 1995.
