The Port Police Division (PPD) of the Port Management Office (PMO) Surigao, together with operatives from the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), arrested a top leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) at the Port of Surigao on 10 September 2022.
The suspect who embarked from the Port of Lipata, is identified as secretary of Guerilla Front (GF) 19 of the CPP-NPA’s Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NMRC) and has three (3) standing Warrants of Arrest, two (2) of which are attempted murder and one (1) for frustrated murder.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of Surigao City PNP for proper disposition.
