Suspected drug pusher killed in Batangas buy-bust

LUCENA CITY — A suspected drug pusher was shot and killed in an alleged encounter with police in San Juan town in Batangas province on Tuesday, a report said on Wednesday, May 29.

The Region 4A police said that drug suspect “Balot” was slain during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lipahan around 7 p.m.

According to the report, the suspect realized he was dealing with an undercover cop during the transaction.

Balut then pulled out a caliber .38 revolver and shot at the team of anti-illegal drug operatives but missed his targets.

In response, the police returned fire and hit the suspect, causing him to sustain bullet wounds. He was rushed to the San Juan District Hospital but unfortunately died on the way.

The suspect’s gun was found loaded with two empty shells and four bullets. Additionally, authorities recovered two plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth) worth P34,000 from Balut.

In a separate report, local anti-narcotic operatives in Bacoor City, Cavite arrested “Boss,” “Joel,” and “Ritchie” in a drug sting operation around 2 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Molino 2.

The suspects, all considered “high value” targets in the government’s drug war, were found with five sachets of meth weighing 39 grams and worth P275,200.

Furthermore, Joel was carrying a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three bullets.

All suspects are currently in police custody and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Joel will also be charged for possession of an illegal firearm.
