SEC Tarlac Joins Annual DSWD-SWDA Convention, Receives Recognition From Top Officials

The Securities and Exchange Commission- Tarlac Extension Office (SEC -TEO) participated in the Annual Convention of Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDA) held last October 14 at Hotel Consuelo, Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija. The event was organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development- Field Office III (DWSD-FO III), one of the Campaign Network partners of SEC-TEO.

Social Welfare and Development Agencies are non-government organizations (NGOs) accredited by DSWD to provide social welfare services to the community and deliver quality services and programs to the disadvantaged sectors and this convention served as a venue to create a legally binding engagement with its partners from the government and private sectors.

During his speech at the said convention, SEC-TEO Director Richard R. Laus recognized the contributions of the DSWD-FO III and the SWDA in promoting the welfare of the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals, families and communities. He also addressed the needs and concerns of the DSWD-accredited NGOs on the submission of their SEC regulatory requirements including their requests for no derogatory information certificate during the open forum session.

On the same occasion, DSWD Undersecretary for Standards and Capacity Building Group, Denise Florence B. Bragas and Assistant Secretary for Luzon Affairs, Marites M. Maristela, CESO III awarded a certificate of appreciation to SEC TEO to recognize its invaluable support and active participation in the implementation of DSWD programs and services.

Last June 2022, SEC-TEO served as resource speakers in the series of face-to-face seminars conducted during the 2nd Quarter Cluster Meetings of the SWDA held in the provinces of Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales and Nueva Ecija.
