SEC Tarlac Capacitates Business Students Through Financial Literacy, Investor Protection

The Securities and Exchange Commission – Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TEO) has collaborated with Tarlac State University-Junior Financial Executives (TSU-JFINEX) to organize an investor education activity, entitled, “Financial Seminar: Formulate the Future, Be FIN Smart”. The said event was held at Tarlac State University Gymnasium last November 28 and was streamed online via Facebook live. This is the first-ever face-to-face financial seminar of TSU after 2 years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The seminar covered discussions on Personal Finance and Investment Scams presented by Ms. Charito Bañez-Santiago, Securities Specialist and Atty. Ma. Theresa Lim-Reotutar, Securities Counsel, respectively. The said activity aims to provide a platform for students to fully utilize their understanding of financial concepts and applications that will increase their capacity in managing skills in finances, ensure financial security, and safeguard against investment frauds.

Students from Tarlac State University along with delegates from other partner universities, colleges and senior high schools participated in this seminar.
