Re-Jigged Cebu Chooks! Aims for a Strong Close to 3×3 Season

As the FIBA 3×3 enters the homestretch of the season, the Cebu Chooks! will be flying to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to join one of the last major competitions of the year, the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Riyadh Masters, which is set to take place on November 11-12 at the Formula E Track in Riyadh, KSA.

A retooled Cebu Chooks squad will once again be bannered by the country’s top two 3×3 players, World No. 93 Mac Tallo and World No. 139 Brandon Ramirez. The duo will be joined by resident import, World No. 131 Mike Harry Nzeusseu and a returning Chooks-to-Go reinforcement, Marcus Hammonds.

Currently the 26th ranked team in the world, Cebu Chooks! will need to be at their best and more in Riyadh where the list of teams joining feature a who’s who in the world of 3×3 basketball.

World No. 1 and Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas World Tour Manila Masters champion Ub of Serbia and Tokyo Olympic gold medalist and Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas World Tour Cebu Masters champion Riga of Latvia lead the stacked card in the tournament.

Aside from these two, there are two more participating teams which are in the Top 10 in the world rankings. These are World No. 4 and Cebu Masters runner-up Antwerp of Belgium and World No. 7 Vienna of Austria.

There are also three other teams which are also in the Top 20 of the world rankings. Host team Jeddah which is 12th in the world will look to defend its home turf. World No. 15 Omaha of the United States, which eliminated Cebu Chooks! in the Cebu Masters, will be looking to advance deep in Riyadh along with World No. 20 Utrecht of Netherlands.

Cebu Chooks! is bracketed in Pool A. They will be facing UB at 1am on Saturday before taking on Doha of Qatar at 3:05 am.
