PRC Maasin Offsite Office in Leyte Officially Opened

Maasin City, Leyte – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) through its Regional Office VIII-Tacloban officially opened its newest Offsite Center in Maasin City, Leyte last March 3, 2023.

The event was graced by no less than PRC Chairperson Charito A. Zamora, Commissioner Erwin M. Enad, Maasin City Vice Mayor Maloney L. Samaco, and Atty. Teofisto Rojas who represented Gov. Damian G. Mercado. The event was also witnessed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, City Administrator Atty. Romeo R. Geniston, PRC employees, LGU Maasin employees, and clients.

With the additional service center, Chairperson Zamora expressed her gratitude to the officials of the City Government of Maasin for the success of this endeavor. “The establishment of this Offsite Service Center will definitely play a significant role in the delivery of quality PRC services to tens of thousands of professionals and would-be professionals, and other stakeholders in the City of Maasin and neighboring municipalities such as Sogod, Tomas Oppus, Saint Bernard, Hinunangan, and other parts of Southern Leyte, as it will provide them convenience and easier accessibility. Moreover, we reach a significant turning point in strengthening our collaboration with the City Government of Maasin. This partnership will immensely benefit both the professionals and examinees as well as boost the local economy of Maasin City”, said Chairperson Zamora.

Moreover, Commissioner Erwin M. Enad, the Oversight Commissioner for PRC’s infrastructure development projects, also expressed his gratitude and commendation to the City Government of Maasin. “I would like to thank and commend the City Government of Maasin, thru Mayor Nikko Mercado, for spearheading this initiative, and for extending their utmost support to PRC for this endeavor. The invaluable assistance provided by your Office will soon bear fruit towards improving PRC’s delivery of services to our clients. We sincerely hope that this partnership becomes stronger and more fruitful in the years to come, as we mutually pursue the best interests of our clients, the professionals in Maasin City, and in the entire province of Southern Leyte”, said Commissioner Enad.

The PRC Maasin offsite office is located at the City Hall Sports Complex, Tunga-Tunga, Maasin City, Southern Leyte, and will cater the clients from Mondays to Fridays, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Among the services of the Offsite Office include processing applications for licensure examinations, initial registration, renewal of Professional Identification Cards (PICs), issuance of certifications and authenticated documents, and processing of CPD applications.

The new Offsite Office in Maasin City is expected to serve at least 70-100 clients daily, which will help decongest the volume of clients transacting in Tacloban City. This will also provide more convenience for PRC clients in Maasin City and its neighboring areas in the Leyte province, bringing PRC’s services closer to their doorsteps.
