PNP Signs Accord With Battle Against Drugs

The Philippine National Police warmly expressed solidarity with the Battle Against Drugs (BAD) to put an end to the drug menace that has been hindering the growth of the nation, through a Memorandum of Agreement.

PNP Chief Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr and Dr. Danilo I Bornales, B.A.D. Founder/President signed a Memorandum of Agreement in Camp Crame on Monday to foster cooperation and collaboration for the community mobilization program in support to anti-drug campaign holistic approach of the national government.

“Today, as we sign this agreement, we express our desire to support Battle Against Drugs to foster governments genuine, sincere, and God leading intention to sustain our fight against illegal drugs in the country”, PNP Chief PGen Rodolfo S Azurin Jr emphasized on his welcome remarks.

PNP Chief Azurin said, with people like them who invested time and resources on this advocacy in support of the relentless effort of our uniformed personnel, we also urge our concerned citizens, help us in our efforts to keep the community and our children’s future safe from the threats of illegal drugs.

Battle Against Drugs is a non-government organization exposing the evil effects of illegal drugs in the country through conducting trainings, symposiums and seminars in different public and private schools down to grassroots level of the community in collaboration with various government agencies and stakeholders.

Azurin also assured the public that the PNP under his watch will continue its tireless pursuit of completely reforming the organization in line with the internal cleansing and reformation program of the PNP.

“Ang lahat ng ito ay patunay lamang ng umiigting pa nating hangarin na sugpuin ang kriminalidad sa bansa at sugpuin ang iligal na droga na unti-unting sumisira ng magandang kinabukasan ng ating mga kabataan” Azurin further added.

Since the assumption of the current administration, the PNP’s aggressive campaign against illegal drugs already recorded 18,505 anti-illegal drug operations which yielded over P9.7 billion worth of illegal drugs and arrested 22,646 drug personalities.
