The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of the scenic Tagbuyawan-Mainit Access Road that is expected to yield employment and business opportunities in Mainit, Surigao del Norte.
Citing a report from DPWH Region 13 Director Pol M. Delos Santos, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the project involves concreting of 3.3 kilometer road with provision of drainage and slope protection structures.
Besides providing safer travel to locals and visitors, the road project leading to West Coastal Road Pebble Beach in the municipality of Mainit will also spur socio-economic development in the area.
When completed, the road will not only ease access and enhance the delivery of goods and services, but also provide travelers with a view of both the serene Lake Mainit and the crystal blue Pacific Ocean.
With a contract amount of P139 million, the Tagbuyawan-Mainit road project is undertaken by DPWH Regional Office 13.
