PhilHealth Launches 21 KonSulta Facilities in Lanao del Norte

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)-10 launched its newest primary care benefit package dubbed “Konsultang Sulit at Tama” (KonSulTa) here for the residents to enjoy outpatient health services on Dec. 2.

To date, there are 21 KonSulTa accredited facilities located in Rural Health Unit (RHU) in the towns of Bacolod, Baroy, Kauswagan, Kolambugan, Linamon, Matungao, Tubod, Kapatagan, Lala, Salvador, Sapad and Tangca. Private facilities include Andot Medical Clinic Tubod Community Hospital & Diagnostic Center, Bontilao Country Hospital, Maranding Community Hospital Gozo Community Hospital, Inc. and Asentista Doctors Hospital Laboratory.

Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) PhilHealth Iligan Chief Christine Mae Magno, said the new primary care benefit package aims to improve the health seeking behavior of every Filipino through early detection of diseases.

“By early detection, maminimize na dayon ang possibility nga mugrabe ang gibati [sa patients] saka pa magpakita sa doctor. Basically Konsulta will improve the health seeking behavior of every Filipino,” she said.

Media partners, information officers and focal persons from rural health units attended the media forum to gain understanding and knowledge about the services.

PhilHealth Region-10 Konsulta coordinator Dr. Francis Ramos said benefits will not just be availed when a person is hospitalized but also for outpatient needs.

“This benefit is intended to cater the health needs of all Filipinos for their primary care such as consultations and case management, laboratory tests and medications, and others,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay highlighted the strong collaboration with national government agencies in providing services to the people is important.
