PCG to Welcome U.S. VP Harris Onboard BRP Teresa Magbanua

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will welcome the United States (U.S.) Vice President Kamala Harris onboard BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) in Puerto Princesa, Palawan on Tuesday, 22 November 2022.

PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, PCG District Palawan Commander, CG Captain Christopher Meniado, and BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701)’s Skipper, CG Commander Erwin Tolentino, will compose the Coast Guard’s welcoming party.

PCG Spokesperson, CG Commodore Armando Balilo, said U.S. Vice President Harris would receive a briefing on the Coast Guard’s current maritime operations in Palawan. This will occur after the vessel tour onboard one of the two biggest PCG vessels to date.

“Aside from Coast Guard officers, officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and local government units (LGUs) will board BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) to listen to the Vice President’s address,” CG Commodore Balilo furthered.
