PCG Introduced the First Ever Life Guard Training in Sta. Maria Davao Occidental

Coast Guard Substation Sta. Maria headed by CG PO2 Ronnie B Revamonte with the collaboration to Department of Tourism Sta. Maria initiated the 1st ever Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) and Life Guard Training to the Tourism Sectors of Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental at Pabnors Beach Resort on September 01, 2022.

CGS Davao Occidental Station Commander, CG ENS JEFFERSON R RODAS formally convened 31 students who are composed of fisher folks, boat operators and beach resorts staff who will undergo a 10-day training on Basic life support, Water safety, Rescue and survival techniques, and Life guard skills which enable themselves to be equipped with necessary skills during maritime emergency situations.

Also present in the activity were Department of Tourism Sta. Maria Davao Occidental representative Ms. Faith Magdadarao, CGA LCDR Rommel Estuart, CGA LCDR Greg Anthony Lim Cañeda of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 814th Squadron and several beach resorts owners of the Municipality of Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental.

The said training will be facilitated by the Special Operations Unit South Eastern Mindanao (SOU-SEM), Coast Guard Medical South Eastern Mindanao (CGMED-SEM) and will be assisted by the Station personnel.

CGS Davao Occidental is continously reaching out to the different sectors of the community to render Coast Guard service in the mission of saving lives and properties at sea.
