New Bridge Opens in Aborlan, Palawan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a 30-lineal meter bridge that now improves accessibility and provides ease of travel to locals and motorists in Barangay Apurawan, Municipality of Aborlan, Palawan.

Citing a report by DPWH Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the New Hilipad Bridge along Aramaywan-Berong-Puerto Princesa Road facilitates safer mobility of people, goods, and services.

“This new Hilipad Bridge helps lessen accidents and road inconvenience, therefore increasing potential for economic and tourism development in the area,” said Secretary Bonoan.

Completed in 2022, the project was implemented by DPWH Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office, headed by District Engineer Amelia B. Fajardo.

The two (2) lane bridge project also includes 6-meter approach slabs on both ends, internally lighted (solar) monodirectional pavement leveling marker, reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings, and metal guardrails.
