Multiple Persons Nabbed For Illegal Gambling in Antique

PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has a stern warning against those who continue to engage in illegal gambling activities that they will face the full might of the law if they continue operating. This, was after 12 suspects were arrested on Sunday, September 11 for illegally operating Peryahan ng Bayan in San Jose, Antique.

Elements of RID, PRO6 conducted Anti- illegal gambling operation that resulted to the confiscation of more than Php 1,000.00 bet money.

On the other hand, follow-up operation was conducted by the operatives upon inquiry on the arrested suspects. It was revealed that the same activity was being conducted at George Arangote’s rented house located in Brgy 3, San Jose, which resulted in another apprehension.

Seized items include Php 27,125.00 worth of collected bet money with gambling paraphernalia.

“Tulong-tulong tayo sa pagsugpo sa illegal na sugal. As one community, let’s help one another in suppressing these illicit activities that can harm the morality and economic aspects of the citizens. The PNP continues to monitor these operations as part of the anti-criminality efforts of the organization,” Azurin said.
