Misamis Occidental Holds Meeting on Peace and Order

OROQUIETA CITY, August 25 – To ensure effective and efficient performance in the implementation of programs, projects, and activities aimed to curb anti-criminality, anti-insurgency, and anti-illegal drugs, DILG Misamis Occidental leads the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) 3rd Quarter CY 2022 meeting and discussed the current situation as well as addressed the issues concerning peace and order in the province.

The meeting was presided over by PPOC Chairperson and Governor, Lawyer Henry S. Oaminal, which was participated by partner government agencies and sectors. The meeting mainly tackled pressing issues on illegal drugs and the insurgency situation in Misamis Occidental.
DILG Misamis Occidental Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez, Jr, as the head secretariat of the meeting, facilitated the roll call of attendees. Afterward, the PNP, PDEA, AFP, and BFP presented status updates regarding peace and order situations in line with the respective mandates of their departments.

In attendance were Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez, Oroquieta City Mayor Lemuel Meyrick Acosta, VMLP President Estela O. Estaño, Provincial Prosecutor Lawyer Dickie Gongob, 10 IB Battalion Commander LTC Jose Andre Monje, Provincial Fire Director Supt. Gregorio Elbambo, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) William Valles, Provincial Legal Officer Lawyer Ar-Reb Aquino, NACPHIL President Pastor Crispin Dura, and others concerned.
