In a separate event for the PNP observance of the day of national remembrance for the heroic sacrifice of SAF 44 yesterday, Police Lieutenant General Rhodel O Sermonia, the Deputy Chief PNP for Administration, led a wreath-laying ceremony at Bantayog ng mga Bayaning Tagapamayapa in Camp Crame. While Police Lieutenant General Benjamin D Santos Jr, the Deputy Chief PNP for Operation led the wreath laying ceremony in Police Regional Office 13.
Other members of the Directorial Staff, Commanders of Area Police Command and Regional Directors also joined the ceremonies held in Police Regional Offices nationwide.
Family members of the gallant SAF 44 were invited and together, we remember the heroism and ultimate sacrifice our dear troopers offer to our country.
“Ang Medalya ng Kagitingan o Medal of Valor bilang pinakamataas na parangal na ating iginawad sa mga bayaning SAF 44 ay simbolo rin ng aming taos pusong pagkilala at pasasalamat sa bawat pamilya at kaibigan na kanilang naulila. Isang karangalan na kayo ay aming makasama ngayong araw upang alalahanin ang kadakilaan nila.
We will continue to honor their memory and supreme sacrifice as we make sure that their legacy lives on through our actions and dedication to the service. They will always be remembered as true heroes, who have given their lives for the Filipinos”, said Chief, PNP in his message.
